It’s almost the end of December and 2010 is gonna end in (let’s see…) 5 days, 2011 will be here in 6 days, and Christmas Day 2010 has come and gone like the wind. It’s certainly amazing how time flies and slips through our hand most of the time. As much as we want time to stand still and need more time for ourselves, we have to accept the harsh reality that time is gonna be our greatest enemy 80% of the time. I’ve been saying this a lot but i’m still gonna say it again: Time is not gonna wait for anyone.
As fast as December went by like the speed of light, i have to admit that God has definitely showered me with many wonderful gifts this month. Whether is it the joy and love of Christmas, or the blessing of a loved one, i certainly have to be thankful to God for well, everything.
The main highlight of December has got to be the most joyous season of the year: Christmas. Personally, my conception and definition of Christmas has gradually evolved as i grew older. When i was younger, The core of Christmas was unfortunately, presents. I mean this doesn’t mean God was not there, but receiving presents seemed to bring me greater joy more than anything else.
Fortunately with the passing of time, i realized that Christmas is not just about receiving gifts, but It’s more about indulging in the company of your family and loved ones and renewing God in your life. Yes, we still give and receive presents to continue the tradition of this wonderful season, but it’s not the main and important part of Christmas. I guess having all your loved ones around you, with all of them safe and sound, is the best gift that one can ever receive and be thankful for.
And as far as it goes, Christmas is nothing without your family, cherished friends, Chris✝, the Church… and it’s people.
Chris✝mas is not Chris✝mas if Chris✝ is not in our ♥
